I have been trying some different art styles with http://www.blahfolder.com/comic/ including a few that I kind of enjoy, but haven't really nailed down a "style" for the comic. In some ways this is very freeing, as I can draw whatever I feel like and not have to worry that it doesn't fall into the realms of this comic "universe".
On the other hand, it can be somewhat useful to establish a style. The Far Side by Gary Larson one of the greatest and funniest comics, had such a wide range of topics and humour, but had a unique style that everyone could easily recognize. The same with Herman by Jim Unger, had a great collection of jokes and characters, but a very recognizable comic style. Of course Garfield by Jim Davis and Calvin and Hobbes by Bill Watterson and you have rounded out some of my favorite comic idols, and the reason that I wanted to create comics myself. Likely I will still explore the process of my own art style. I recently updated some art on deviant art at http://mayekol.deviantart.com/ most of it from University where I did a Visual Arts minor as part of (one of ) my degrees. It is mostly life drawing and not really cartoonish, but still gives some idea of some of the stuff I am exploring.
Oh well, keep working at it, and hope to make a few people chuckle along the way,
Cheers,

More consistent posting.
Seemed to have gotten caught up in Canucks fever for the last few weeks, sure would have been nicer to have had a parade instead of the riots.
New post http://www.blahfolder.com/comic/?id=3 has a subtle hint in the name of the store, for those who enjoy a bit of Biology (hopefully not enough to give it away though).
Bye for now,

Blahfolder comic
So, finally getting my act together an posting on http://www.blahfolder.com/comic/ I figure I will use this blog to rant away and keep track of some oddities or details of working on http://blahfolder.com (planning on not just comics hopefully), but just getting organized anyway.
The first comic (and first news). What can I say, there will be a lot of experimentation early on, to really try and get a feel for what works and doesn't. I don't feel so bad, all my favorite comics started out in a slightly different form and style and moved towards something better. Hopefully I can do the same, and have some laughs along the way.
Cheers,
Michael Hubbard
